To commemorate the 3rd UNESCO General Conference in Beirut, the Republic of Lebanon (الجمهورية اللبنانية) issued a dedicated commemorative stamp series in late 1948. Designed by E. Dey and printed in Beirut by Imprimerie Catholique (I.C. Beyrouth), the 12.50 piastre stamp features a terrestrial globe set alongside classical Corinthian columns (evoking Baalbek), cleverly bridging Lebanon's ancient heritage with its modern commitment to international cultural diplomacy.
