Viticulture and grape production (زراعة العنب) hold an ancient and vital position in Lebanon’s agricultural heritage. Centered largely in the sun-drenched Beqaa Valley as well as the foothill regions of Mount Lebanon, grape cultivation dates back millennia to Phoenician times. In the modern era, Lebanese grapes harvested both for fresh consumption, table exports, and the production of traditional beverages like arak and regional wines have served as a key driver of the country’s agricultural sector and rural economy.

To showcase national agricultural produce and celebrate local farming traditions, the Republic of Lebanon (لبنان) featured grapes in its mid-20th-century pictorial airmail series (POSTE AERIENNE / بريد جوي). Designed by F. Ott and printed in Beirut by Imprimerie Catholique (I.C. BEYROUTH), this 25 piastre blue stamp depicts a lush, heavy cluster of grapes hanging from a vine, highlighting Lebanon's rich agricultural landscape and natural export products.
